Very windy in the night as forewarned by the locals. Up at 6 and after a industrial strength coffee were packed and away by 8.
Headed up the coast road with the wind pushing us along from behind with the rain lashing down. That was the pattern for the day.
Highlight of the day was Tehidy Country Park Tea Rooms. We arrived looking like two wet sponges on legs and had to apologise for the pools of water appearing around us where we sat drinking tea. The building is very modern sat amongst the trees with lovely views all around.
After more tea and lemon drizzle cake it was time to leave for the remainder of the walk. Despite the bad weather we kept up our spirits by verbal banter. We at last arrived at our pre planned resting place for tonight. Thanks Margaret for looking after us – drying clothes, feeding us, and making us feel very welcome. Dot’s not happy at all. Her supposedly waterproof Mountain Warehouse “Extreme” jacket purchased recently left her wet to the skin. We need to find a new one asap. Supper is served – Cottage Pie. Thanks Margaret.
Oh dear, the rain has caught up with you. So sorry to hear about your so called waterproof jacket. I looked it up and the reviews were good. I think you need your money back. Let’s hope the weather improves soon. Thinking of you, Peter and Annie. xx
It had to catch up with us eventually but after today things can only improve ???
Well done
Great to meet you both in the Red Lion Blackwater. Thanks for the drink and donation to Macmillan Cancer Support.
Thinking of you both as always. Looks like the weather is not going to be too good in the next few days. Anyway, we know you will carry on undaunted. KBO as Churchill said.
Peter & Annie xx
Cheers Pete. Weather today warm and dry so had a better day than yesterday. KBO ?
