Storm Imogen revealed herself overnight and we were grateful to be staying in a caravan.

Spent most of the day relaxing and discussing our route. Went for a walk with Rachael and Thurza as far as the church.

The two girls carried on walking the dog and we lingered a while in the church. Mostly Victorian but again, a lovely place to take a moment.

Loved the intense blue of this stained glass

Saw an interesting plaque on the wall. Surnames eh? (Pine-Coffin)

Stuart is the Tower keeper for the church and later in the day we walked back to the church and he took us up the tower as far as the bell ringing room. He showed us the church clock workings while young Gareth rang one of the bells – just for fun!

We enjoyed a very pleasant evening with Stuart and Greta and their family, Gareth, Rachael and Thurza. Stuart is a keen steam engine enthusiast and showed us his photographs spanning several decades back to the fifties. Definately a lifelong passion for Stuart.

  1. Very wise to have a day off. We hope that you have found somewhere warm and comfortable to take refuge. This weather must be really good for glowing faces. Best wishes – Alan and Beryl.

  2. Oh good. So glad you have found shelter, some friendly faces and have taken the night off camping In the tent and day off to rest. was just a little concerned that you may have been braving the elements last night!! Phew thank goodness for the kindness of strangers xx

  3. Both Annie and I have been thinking of you today and are glad you’ve taken shelter. It looks rough down that way. Let’s hope tomorrow is better.
