Had a good sleep in the games barn at Mena. Thanks Ian and Sue. Left around 8.30.
Misty rain and wind – apparently storm Henry! Very blustery but much milder today. Visibility was very low. Sunday morning brought out the cyclists and runners. We came across an interesting road sign with an iron globe and Cornish flag weather vane.
As we got closer to Lanhydroc House we were beginning to warm up so had to take a couple of layers off! We walked along a cycle track through the woods.
After crossing the last road that leads into Bodmin, we headed towards Cardinham Wood. We had a very steep climb up a track to Tawnamoor (We both thought it was similar to the gradient up Helvellyn ) Believe it or not there was a bench at the top – needless to say, we sat for a while.
We were keeping an eye on our mileage as we were nearly at the 100 mile mark. We reached it walking along the track at Long Downs.
Out came the selfie stick! ☺
Walked on along the track to the road where Dot noticed a campsite sign. A little further on we met Gerald, the owner of Gwel-An-Nans Farm Campsite. We liked Gerald and we liked the look of the campsite so took it as a sign to stop for the day. There aren’t many campsites open at this time of year and a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. Tent up, clothes washed and dried, showered, supper eaten, and time for an early night. Tomorrow we are heading towards Minions and then hopefully the following day the Devon border at Horsebridge.
So impressed with what you gays are doing and lové thé Daily updates. Sounds like you are meeting some amazingly kind people along the way. Annie sends her good wishes. xx
