Spent the night at the Dock Inn, Penzance. Started our day with a tasty breakfast cooked by the lovely Sue. Thanks Sue! Caught the 10.45 bus from Penzance to Land’s End.
Great bus journey sat in the front seat of a no. 1A double decker bus. After 2 pints of beer at the Land’s End hotel we started our journey. We signed the LEJOG book! OK, then we cracked and paid the £9.95 for our photo at the signpost. By now the weather was beautiful – sunshine and blue skies – so we had a lovely walk along the coastal footpath to Gwynver where we had arranged to camp overnight. After a bit of tooing and froing we found the place we needed to be. A lovely place which we found on the campinmygarden website. Pitched our tent reasonably quickly (only for the second time too!). Our host Gina made us a very welcome cup of tea – thanks Gina. We ate Cornish pasty and baked beans for supper and for dessert we drank wine!
A perfect end to a perfect day.
A first step!
Thanks Nina. The weather was on our side on day one. Left Cinderford on Thursday and the temperature was -5C and now it’s a balmy 13C
On bravo. Go steady on those glasses of wine!
Thanks Liz. Enjoyed our wine on Friday night. Camped on a farm last night and tonight so no wine! Off to Hayle tomorrow.
Brilliant start. Go easy on the wine!
