Not up so early today. After a good breakfast Margaret drove Dave and I back to Otterspool on the promenade – thanks Margaret.
We had a short walk today as far as the end of the promenade. The Mersey was the star of the day once again.
Quite a few people stopped to ask us about our walk and we gave them all a flyer so that they could follow our progress.
We stopped to watch as the Canal and River Trust opened up huge sluice gates to flush out a channel for boats leaving the marina – this happens every day.
Just a short walk onwards past the Liverpool Exhibition Centre and Echo Arena – the Anglican Liverpool Cathedral dominated the skyline to the right.
It wasn’t long before we arrived at the Albert Docks and the Liver Building.
We carried on walking until we reached the end of the promenade which marked the end of our recorded walk for the day.
From there we walked up into town. We needed to sort out our problem with the broken tent pole. We tried Cotswold Outdoor and found that the pole couldn’t be repaired so a replacement has been ordered and should arrive on Wednesday morning. Good job that we booked 2 nights in Liverpool! Thanks Cotswold Outdoor Liverpool.
We arrived at the Adelphi Hotel at 2pm just in time to book in. Comfortable room, lovely hot bath and a relaxing evening ahead.
