Saturday 8th April 2017 – total 119 miles
Up and away around 8.30. Lovely to meet up with Jackie, Michaela and David again. Our first treat for the day was a walk along Hayle beach. Beautiful blue skies and warm sunshine.
We called in to say hello to Margaret in Blackwater. She made us very welcome last year when we turned up soaked to the skin and dripping water everywhere. We stayed for a coffee then continued on – thanks Margaret.
Our next treat was a visit to Healey’s Cyder Farm where we took the full tour! A guided tour explaining the cider making processes, the museum, jam making kitchen, the cellars and a tasting session followed by a tractor ride around the apple orchard. Oh yes – and a pint of cider too!
Needless to say, we took some time out before we left!!
After a suitable time we made our way towards Minions where we enjoyed a pot of tea for two at the Cheese Wring pub. We felt that we needed to crack on so decided to drive to Tavistock then up onto Dartmoor and this time we had wonderful views all around.
We ended our day at the Warren House Inn. Our final treat for today was a delicious meal and a pint of Otter beer. Great to be back here and good to meet Peter again.
Looks like you’re having a wonderful time. Weather still good. Cheers, Hic!!!
Everyone we meet mentions the good weather. Cheers.
